About Me

I’m a PhD student in Economics at UCL. I completed my MA, BA in Economics and BS in Public Health at the National Taiwan University (NTU). I have been exchanged to UCLA in my undergrad and doing a public health internship in Malawi. I am a believer in behavioural economics and eager to decipher the process of how people make their decisions. I enjoy traveling and exploring different cultures and dream one day I can find a perfect place for me to settle down.

My Research

My research interest is in the field of applied microeconomics, focusing on development economics. Currently, I am interested in working on how an individual form her belief and make her decisions influenced by the social norm, socioeconomic status, and other information they receive. And further discuss how these impacts affect human capital formation and occupational decisions.

Impact of My Research

I believe my research can provide an alternative explanation that the poor stuck in the poverty trap is due to some behavioural bias, which is caused by the process of the information and distinct to the common households due to the poverty identity. I hope the research can provide insight to policymakers and NGOs to create more efficient development programs to help them escape from the poverty trap.
