The Urban Studies, Planning and Spatial Science pathway undertakes methodologically innovative, cross-disciplinary research into cities, the built environment and complex urban socio-spatial phenomena. It draws on leading urbanists from Birkbeck, UEL and UCL (across the Bartlet School of Planning, CASA and the Urban Laboratory). The pathway prioritises cross-disciplinary and international analysis of social and spatial urban issues drawing on innovative methodological expertise that crucially straddles quantitative and qualitative domains. It holds extensive links with external partners across government, industry and civic society and emphasises the development of participatory and engaged methods of urban research and practice
