About Me
I am a PhD student in Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London (UCL) and holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
Prior to my PhD I have been working at RAND Europe for the last two years as a mixed methods researcher with a focus on health inequalities.
My Research
My research would focus on pathways to employment and the influence of different educational pathways on social mobility and wellbeing outcomes using a mixed-methods approach. The quantitative analysis would examine intersectional inequality and the role of economic and cultural capital in enabling access to different educational pathways; the qualitative work on educational journeys and social mobility. Some preliminary research questions I may pursue are:
What roles do economic and cultural capital play as mediators between educational attainment, subsequent employment outcomes and social mobility?
What are the impacts of changing education policies on social mobility and improving wellbeing outcomes, particularly among typically underrepresented groups?
Impact of My Research
By focusing on educational pathways and employment outcomes, this research has the potential to inform policy relating to how different forms of economic and cultural capital shape access to education and, subsequently, influence social mobility.
