The pathway has world-leading expertise on mental health research with a commitment to cross-disciplinary research spanning epidemiology and applied clinical research, palliative care, mental health of older people and mental health neuroscience. There are strong links to other UBEL pathways and groups.
The research maps directly onto ESRC priorities on Health and Social Care and Understanding Behaviour, with strengths in training on advanced quantitative methods and extensive experience in managing and analysis of large cohort studies and public datasets. Research Centres include: NIHR mental health policy research unit, PRIMENT, UKRI Loneliness and Isolation in Mental Health Network, NIHR Applied Research Collaboration, Institute of Mental Health, and the Mental Health Theme at the UCLH Biomedical Research Centre.
The pathway has extensive links with policy makers, NHS and social care bodies and third sector.
