Training Routes
See table below for training routes and institutions available for this pathway.
ESRC studentships at the UBEL DTP are structured around the following routes: 1+3, +3, 2+3 and +4 funding. Please note that not all routes are available in all institutions or pathways. Click here for further information on funding routes.
This pathway includes two institutions with strong track records in anthropology research and impact. The field is inherently interdisciplinary and involves collaboration nationally and internationally. As a result, there are many opportunities to work with other UBEL pathways, including the digital footprints, environments, and global development (eg international development, risk, disasters and resilience); health, resilience, well-being and welfare (eg population health and health and wellbeing); and political and judicial processes (eg interdisciplinary area studies, politics and international relations) groups.
Researchers work with a wide range of stakeholders, such as third sector organisations, museums, media and community-based organisations and health agencies. The pathway spans digital user experience, product and service design, marketing, policy and the civil service, development, charities, museums and heritage, health and medical fields, journalism, film and media, with organisations across these areas presenting internship opportunities for students.
Existing relationships include Victoria and Albert Museum, Health Poverty Action, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and Policy Lab London
