Sonia Codreanu

About me: I completed a BSc in Psychology at the University of Bath and I am currently studying for a MSc in Research Methods in Psychology at UCL. My interest in entrepreneurial judgments was sparked while undertaking a one-year long placement working as a research assistant with Dr Gorkan Ahmetoglu at UCL, investigating individual differences in entrepreneurial potential. During my time there, I developed an interest in psychometric tools measuring entrepreneurial judgments and cognition.

My research: The aim of my PhD is to investigate entrepreneurial judgments that characterise the growth stage of a start-up (i.e. following creation). The project will employ a mixed methods approach, combining semi-structured interviews to determine the most critical decisions made by entrepreneurs during the growth stages of their start-up with more quantitative approaches to explore potential factors affecting these decisions. I hope that this research will help elucidate how judgments and decision making differ between low-performing and high-performing entrepreneurs, and to inform the development of a situated measure of entrepreneurial judgments.
