The pathway includes the Centre for Longitudinal Studies, home to four of Britain’s cohort studies (1958 National Child Development; 1970 British Cohort; Millennium Cohort; Next Steps, formerly Longitudinal Study of Young People in England), charting social change.
The Centre for Time Use Research uses data to investigate issues of social life, paid work patterns, work-life balance, family, gender, and socio-economic structure. Cohort and Longitudinal Studies Enhancement Resources brings together world-leading longitudinal studies with participants born in the 20th and 21st centuries. Evidence for Policy and Practice Information and Co-ordinating Centre brings together research evidence to inform decision making in policy, practice and research. Quantitative Social Science applies quantitative methods to inform policy on education, health, labour markets, human development and child/adult wellbeing.
The Social Science Research Unit promotes evidence-informed policy and practice in education, health and welfare through ethical and participative social research and the Thomas Coram Research Unit leads research into children, parenting and families.
