Liam Wright

About me:I am a first year PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at UCL. My research is on the ‘scarring’ effects of youth unemployment on later life mental health and subjective wellbeing. I am interested in understanding what drives such scarring effects, including the pathways through which scarring may occur and the factors which may exacerbate or protect against scarring. I’m also interested in learning what policymakers can do to lessen the long-term impact of youth unemployment.

Previous to UCL, I was an NIHR Research Methods fellow at the University of Sheffield. My undergraduate degree is in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Durham and I have a masters’ degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham.
