Congratulations to UBEL’s very own Ian Ross, who is a joint winner of the ESRC ‘Better Lives’ writing competition 2018-19, with his winning entry ‘Better lives with better toilets’.
To read Ian’s winning blog check out his website – https://washeconomics.com/2019/04/05/better-lives-with-better-toilets-sanqol-translated-for-public-engagement/.
He also made the Guardian website, who published an abridged version of his winning entry here.
In Ian’s own words:
[I was chuffed to be joint winner in the ESRC ‘Better Lives’ writing competition with the piece intended for a general audience. I would recommend competitions like this for forcing oneself to write to a hard deadline for public engagement, not something researchers often have to do. A more researcher-facing post on SanQoL is here.]
Well done Ian!
